The Investment Group forms part of the Investment and Economic Projects Division within DEDJTR and plays a critical role in working with business to increase foreign and domestic investment within Victoria. Promoting Victoria as an investment destination, the Investment Group works with business to attract and deliver investment projects for the state contributing to the growth of the Victorian economy.

Reporting to the Director, Southern and Eastern Metro region, this position is a key member of a dynamic, high performing team contributing directly to the Victorian Government’s investment and job creation priorities. Leading a small investment facilitation team, the Senior Investment Manager will work closely with domestic and international organisations to identify, initiate and manage strategic investment activities that deliver new jobs and capital investment for Victoria.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to promote, deliver and manage a range of economic initiatives within the food and fibre sector and will provide essential high level advice and support to Ministers and Senior Executives on economic issues and trends and their potential impact to Victoria. The role will contribute to the review and evaluation of economic development initiatives, identify gaps and determine opportunities for future development or improvement.

This position will suit an experienced leader who has demonstrated ability in targeting investment opportunities and facilitating excellent outcomes for business. An understanding of global investment trends, key markets for Victoria and the challenges and opportunities facing key industry sectors will be required, with knowledge of the food and fibre sector an advantage. Working collaboratively at a senior level across government and industry, the position will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence outcomes.
