Located 250kms north of Brisbane and centred on the twin cities of Hervey Bay and Maryborough, the Fraser Coast region is home to 100,000 residents and a thriving mixed-business economy. This newly created role will see you leading the ED team across a broad range of initiatives from small business development to the identification and conversion of large scale investment opportunities – all focused on delivering a long-term sustainable and bright economic future for the Fraser Region, its residents and business communities. From a strategic perspective, you will be responsible for the development of Council’s economic development strategy while also having autonomous operational control over its implementation including the identification of new and emerging investment/development opportunities, funding proposals and the development of collaborative partnerships both internally and externally.

An impressive track record in either economic or community development within the public sector is essential ideally gained in an environment that encouraged innovation, creative thinking and broad-reaching stakeholder engagement.
