Reporting to the Group Manager Greater Dandenong Business, this dynamic role has been created to partner with the commercial and industrial sectors within CGD to further enhance the broad range of business interests across the municipality. The role will motivate key stakeholders and articulate a vision with them to deliver investment, development and growth for the purpose of economic resilience and wellbeing.
This position leads the Economic Development Unit (EDU) and will assist in the management of the South East Business Networks Unit (SEBN) of the City of Greater Dandenong. The position has become vacant due to a recent resignation.
The objectives of the position include contributing to the effective operation of the EDU and Greater Dandenong Business through the implementation of the Council’s Economic and Employment Strategy, Regional Food Strategy, Tourism Strategy and Council plans. This will be achieved through the implementation of activities, events, programs and projects supporting the local and regional economies.
The incumbent will be;
- tertiary qualified in relevant areas which may include economics, industry, economic development or related fields.
- should have a significant level of knowledge and understanding of the principles and practises of economic development,
- be able to manage multi-strategy projects and activities,
- have a comprehensive understanding of economic development principles and demonstrated well developed analytical and problem solving skills.
