Band 8 – Commencing at $108,197 – $121,232 (+9.5% super)

An outstanding opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced economic development professional to join the Council’s Cultural and Economic Development department.
The Hobsons Bay Economic Development Plan 2015 – 2020 is in its third year of delivery, with priorities for the year ahead representing diverse and interesting work, including a focus on the visitor economy through Council’s next tourism strategy, helping grow and define the start-up economy at a local and regional level and advocating for the needs of business across several industry sectors.
Our ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications and significant experience in economic development, and be able to provide leadership, coordinating a unit that works across Council to deliver exceptional services across its business sector and provide increased economic and social benefit to the city.
To be successful in this role, you will require a sound knowledge of local and state government roles and responsibilities in relation to economic development and a demonstrated ability to develop and implement policy and strategic work. You will have exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain productive relationships.
