ED Awards - Promotion — publication
Circular Head Council (Tasmania)
| Following eight months of research and Development, Tasmania’s Circular Head Council this year published its first-ever Regional and Economic profile. The 120-page document was targeted at potential agriculturalists and investors in the municipality’s natural resource-based industries. The research was based on direct consultation with about 50 individuals representing 43 organisations, including private business and industry, government departments and agencies. The profile aimed to go beyond the standard ‘community profile’ offerings, by containing high-quality mapping and in-depth information for intending investors on land capability, water catchment areas, land tenure and use and dominant soil types. The document also features highly useful information on sea, air and road infrastructure across Tasmania for importers and exporters, as well as sections featuring real estate and housing statistics, telecommunications, postal and media information, health and emergency services, educational institutions, sport and recreation options, and tourism. The two main challenges were to produce a publication that inspired investment and a document that helped local businesses into the future and to boost publicity of the remote region. With national recognition and widespread acclaim for the quality of the document and with growing investor interest, the results have surpassed the expectations of the Circular Head Council. |
