Members' accreditation
ACEcD (Australian Certified Economic Developer)
Following an EDA Board review of accreditation systems, acting on members’ request, it was decided to introduce the ACEcD accreditation scheme. Any members wishing to apply for ACEcD are asked to LOG IN to the EDA web site using user name and password and go to www.edaustralia.com.au/ACEcD . You will then be required to complete the Professional Development Activity record www.edaustralia.com.au/pd-activity-record upon which you’re application will be assessed and approved (as appropriate).
NOTE: There is no addiitonal cost to become an ACEcD.
The criteria for ACEcD are as follows:
• Be a financial member of EDA
• 5 years relevant experience in an economic development role plus the Post Grad Certificate course in Economic Development of RMIT University [Four units].or an equivalent post graduate course OR
at least 10 years relevant experience in an economic development role
• Commit to continued professional development and achieve 50 PD points over each two year period
A certificate of accreditation will be issued to Certified members in due course.
Once established the ACEcD will be become a recognition of practitioner professionalism, and eventually may become a desirable requirement for economic development positions.
EDA Board request for member data
In order to better understand the skills and background of its members and provide appropriate professional development programs, the EDA Board asks ALL MEMBERS to LOG IN to the EDA web site using user name and password and to complete the following two forms:
• Education record (www.edustralia.com.au/education-record)
• Employment record (www.edaustralia.com.au/employment-record)
Any new members will automatically be required to complete these forms as part of the NEW APPLICATION process.
All three forms will be accessible to members once logged in via the member console (links are below the Forum link on right-hand-side).
