ED Awards 2010 - Questions
Below are the questions to be addressed in each application:
Address all criteria as appropriate to your application and remain within the word count limit. If you do not address a criterion, please give a reason (e.g. the criterion may not be relevant to your application).
Categories 1 - 5
1. Executive Summary
Limit 250 words
Provide a brief description of your application for use in promotional material. Your executive summary should mention to the title of the application and main features of the application.
2. The Economic Development Issue (10 points weighting)
Limit 250 words
Provide what was the motivating / driving force behind the project / applicant or issue which the application refers.
3. The process. planning and solution designed to address the issue (35 points weighted)
Limit 750 words
What processes were used to develop the project / applicant or issue and how does it meet the applicant’s objectives? How were others consulted or involved in development of the plans and how the identified solutions were obtained.
4. The benefits / results achieved (35 points weighted)
Limit 750 words
What are the benefits, who has benefited and how? Benefits can be both direct and indirect and will need to be shown to have occurred and been measurable with relevant evaluation.
5. Key outcomes and their contribution to the Economic Development Profession (20 points weighted)
Limit 500 words
What aspects of the project / applicant or issue can be adapted or transferred by others to use. We are interested in lessons learned and the opportunity for the economic development profession to gain.
For Category 8 only
1. Executive Summary
Limit 150 words
Provide a brief description of the nominated person for use in promotional material. Your executive summary should mention the title of the person and their main features re economic development. Indicate if elected/committee member or employee.
Note the person being nominated must be aware and consent to the nomination. For this category the nominee does not have to be an EDA member but person submitting application must be.
2. The Economic Development roles (10 points weighting)
Limit 250 words
Provide what is the driving and motivating force behind the person being nominated.
3. The roles undertaken by this person in the required period. (35 points weighted)
Limit 750 words
What has this person done which demonstrates outstanding service in progressing the recognition of economic development in the broader community? Provide examples of interaction with others beyond their own field.
4. The benefits / results achieved (35 points weighted)
Limit 750 words
What were the benefits, of this person’s activity in economic development? Benefits can be both direct and indirect and will need to be shown to have occurred and been measurable with relevant evaluation.
5. Key outcomes and their contribution to the Economic Development Profession (20 points weighted)
Limit 500 words
What aspects of this person can be adapted or transferred by others to use in the field of leadership in Economic Development.
