GREATER TAREE COUNCIL 

Located some three hours north of Sydney, Taree can be fairly said - and certainly by the locals -  to boast great beaches, and a pristine hinterland.

Traditionally, the natural beauty of the region has been Greater Taree Council's major promotional focus but, in recent times, the Council has adopted a new position which projects it as being "helpers" and "caregivers", with this approach being effectively and efficiently promoted via the internet.

Greater Taree Council believes that is only common sense to assert that people will not invest in a local community without first understanding it. And in order to understand it, they must assess the economic and demographic profile, the future forecasts, and existing business environment. 

To ensure that this information is as accessible as possible, it is important that this information then needs to be made easily available on a community website.

The website has thousands of pages dedicated to helping people to relocate to the area, including helping people to find the right home, right school for their children, as well as information for relocating or establishing businesses.

To assist with the establishment of new businesses, the website gathers information from state and federal government agencies, and displays the information. 

Similarly, the databases are established by obtaining the information from the Yellow Pages and displayed as if it were the Council's information. The result is a dynamic, and continually evolving website, which actively promotes the region of Greater Taree.
